Sometimes simple is the best and Viking's has this down to an art form. I've been coming to Viking's Submarines for almost 20 years and I have never been disappointed!
As a vegetarian, going anywhere and ordering a veggie sandwich is never worth it but for Viking's avocado sandwich and the toasted bread and the melted cheese (always add jalapenos) makes any price worth it.
I take all of my friends and family to Viking's when they're in town, they're reluctant at first but by the first bite all skepticism is gone and they stop talking because they're too busy enjoying this amazing sandwich.
As a vegetarian you can never go wrong at Viking's with an Avocado sandwich, a bag of chips and a can of Coke :) -

Swung by here the other day after work and was pleasantly surprised. The recent reviews of this spot spoke highly of it so I figured I'd dip in and give it a go. The first time I went with the Italian Salami...it was fantastic. They use good ingredients but the magic is the toasted bun. It very much lived up to the reviews.
This is how I ended back up here tonight and am giving the Viking a go. Again, from other reviews it looks like and sounds like it is going to be amazing.
As for the spot. It's a cute little spot that if you are either by yourself, a date, or a small group would be perfect. It's clean and quiet. If you are looking for a good sandwich spot, you have to do yourself a favor and try this gem out. -

Pretty solid sub! Had the imitation crab sub and it was fire. A small, hole in the wall, spot... recommended.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Some days a great sandwich just makes your day that much better ... and over the last 25 years plus! Viking subs- specifically the avocado with cheese - I've had many days made that much better after lunch at Viking! Sonny and her husband consistently deliver the best subs in the city.. the small size is more than enough, and at $8 to $10, that's a bargain! They're toasted to perfection, with a light and very satisfying sauce. And Always perfectly ripe avocados ! Tip: Drive around the block and you'll find parking!
